Poetry and music in Lent

Greetings gentle readers! This Wednesday, April 13, a selection of poems from the work of John B. Lee, Marilyn Geer Pilling, and yours ever faithfully will be read at All Saints Anglican Church at 12 noon as part of their Lenten series. Renowned organist David Palmer and clarinetist Trevor Pittman will also be sharing their prodigious talents. The Church is located at 330 City Hall Square, (519) 253-8001, and if you can make it there over the lunch hour, you will be blessed.

My contribution will be a poem written several years ago – a retelling of the encounter between Christ and Mary Magdalene in the garden on Resurrection Morning. It is, (ahem) somewhat controversial, and I was surprised they wanted that poem for their liturgy. But, so be it. It will be interesting to see what the reaction is. One thing you can say about this profession – it’s never boring!
