Last week I received an intriguing email, (which at first I thought had to be spam) from Dr. Dimitris P. Kraniotis, President of the World Congress of Poets, inviting me to the 22nd Congress to be held in Larissa Greece this summer. Oh my! For a brief moment I imagined myself rubbing shoulders with famous poets from all over the world, touring ancient ruins by day and reading from my book in evening performances. Such a lovely vision!
However, it lasted but a moment. Financial considerations make globe-trotting this year an impossibility – I tole paw not to light his ceegars with them thar hunerd dollar bills but he jest wouldn’t lissen! But someday I will go to Greece, a long-held dream of mine.
And for now, it was an honour to have been invited.
