Funniest thing just happened, dear readers. I was writing about an anecdote that took place a few years back, and I had to quit. I thought some of the people involved might not appreciate me writing about them. So I started again, only disguising the characters this time. I got halfway through and couldn’t go on. What seemed so amusing now appeared mean-spirited and unkind. So there’ll be no update this week. Don’t have the heart for it.
You might be interested to know I’ve been invited to preach again this summer – one Sunday in June and three in July – and I’ve started writing the sermons. And work continues on The Magdalene Poems, the story drawing me in deeper and deeper.
